Penn Cinema is a relatively new independent theater chain that is headquartered in Lititz, Pennsylvania. They opened their first facility in fall of 2006. In 2009, JKR partners began working with the chain. The first project for the team was the design of a 15-screen ground-up theater in downtown Wilmington, Delaware, which included an IMAX. The second project was a stand-alone IMAX with an attached restaurant. The stand-alone IMAX is next door to their existing complex and headquarters in Lititz. With each project having unique opportunities and challenges, JKR Partners creates theaters for Penn Cinema that are a reflection of the chain’s mode of operating modern, well designed theaters that create an exciting and unique experience for the patrons.
